Terms and conditions
Last updated: May 13th, 2026 Welcome to Kaaluna. These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the Kaaluna website at kaaluna.com and any related services, content, and features we offer (together, the “Platform”). By using the Platform, joining our waitlist, signing up as a founding member, or otherwise interacting with us, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.
1. About Kaaluna
Kaaluna is a community platform supporting traditional, complementary, and integrative approaches to wellbeing. We connect seekers with practitioners, practices, and circles across the German-speaking region. Kaaluna is currently in a pre-launch phase. During this phase, the Platform is limited to information, waitlist signups, founding member registration, and selected early-access features. The full Platform will roll out in stages, as described on our website. Kaaluna is currently operated jointly by Lena Reichwein (Elbestraße 15, 65604 Elz, Germany) and Sumesh Peringeth (55 Quach Giai, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam). At the current pre-launch stage, Kaaluna is operated as an early-stage project before a dedicated legal entity has been established to operate the Platform. Once a legal entity is established, these Terms will be updated accordingly and users will be notified. You can contact us at [email protected].
2. Who can use Kaaluna
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Platform. By using Kaaluna, you confirm that you are 18 or older and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. If you are using the Platform on behalf of an organization or business, you confirm that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
3. Two Types of Members
The Platform serves two types of members. Seekers are individuals exploring practices, practitioners, retreats, and community experiences for their own wellbeing. Professionals are practitioners, facilitators, hosts, coaches, teachers, and other professionals offering services, products, or experiences in the integrative wellbeing space. Additional terms specific to each group may apply once the relevant Platform features go live. We will share these clearly before any service is activated and ask for your agreement where required.
4. Waitlist and Founding Member Signup
When you join the waitlist or sign up as a founding member, you provide us with personal information such as your name, email address, and details about your role, interests, or offerings. We use this information to keep you informed about Kaaluna’s progress, invite you to early-access features, and, where you are a professional, to assess fit for the founding member program. Signing up does not create a contract for paid services. Founding member benefits, including a reduced long-term rate on paid features, founders circle access, and early invitations, will be honored when the relevant Platform features go live, subject to the conditions described on our website at the time of signup. We may decline or limit founding member status at our discretion, for example where the founding cohort is full or where an applicant does not align with the values and practices the community is being built around. Where we decline, we will let you know and remove your information on request.
5. Your Account
Once accounts become available, you are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for all activity that takes place under your account. Please let us know promptly at [email protected] if you suspect any unauthorized use.
6. Practitioner Listings and Content
Where the Platform includes practitioner profiles, listings, articles, or other content, please keep the following in mind. We aim to verify the basic identity and credentials of the practitioners we list, but we do not endorse, recommend, or guarantee any individual practitioner, modality, treatment, or outcome. Decisions about who to engage with and what practices to follow are yours. Kaaluna does not provide healthcare, psychotherapy, diagnosis, treatment, or licensed medical services. The Platform is intended for informational, educational, and community purposes relating to integrative wellbeing practices. Information published on Kaaluna, whether by us, our contributors, or our practitioners, is for general informational purposes only. It is not medical advice and is not a substitute for diagnosis, treatment, or care from a qualified medical professional. If you are unwell, pregnant, taking medication, or managing a health condition, please consult a licensed medical practitioner before starting any new practice. Where a practitioner offers services through the Platform in future, those services are provided by the practitioner directly. Kaaluna acts as a connector and information layer. Your contractual relationship for any session, retreat, product, or program is with the practitioner, not with Kaaluna, unless we say otherwise in writing. Practitioners are independently responsible for ensuring that their services, qualifications, advertising, insurance coverage, tax obligations, and professional activities comply with all applicable laws and professional requirements in the jurisdictions in which they operate. Views, opinions, recommendations, and statements expressed by practitioners or users are their own and do not necessarily reflect the views of Kaaluna.
7. Your Use of the Platform
You agree to use Kaaluna in good faith and in ways that are consistent with the community we are building. This means, among other things, that you will not:
- Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose or in any way that harms others.
- Misrepresent your identity, credentials, qualifications, or experience.
- Publish, share, or submit content that is misleading, defamatory, harassing, discriminatory, hateful, or otherwise harmful.
- Make medical claims or promises of cure, recovery, or specific health outcomes in a way that breaches applicable advertising or health regulations, including the German Heilmittelwerbegesetz (HWG) where it applies.
- Scrape, copy, or extract content or data from the Platform without our written permission.
- Interfere with the security, integrity, or normal operation of the Platform.
We may suspend or remove access for anyone who breaches these expectations. We may also investigate suspected misuse of the Platform and cooperate with lawful requests from regulatory or legal authorities where required.
8. Content You Submit
If you submit content to the Platform, including your profile information, photos, written contributions, messages in community circles, or anything else, you keep ownership of that content. You grant Kaaluna a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, reproduce, share, and use that content for the purpose of operating, promoting, and improving the Platform. Where you ask us to delete your content, we will do so within a reasonable time, subject to any limited retention required for backups, security, or legal compliance. You confirm that you have the rights to share any content you submit and that it does not infringe the rights of any third party. We may remove content that breaches these Terms or that we consider, in good faith, to be inappropriate for the community.
9. Our Content and Brand
The Kaaluna name, logo, and original content on the Platform are protected by intellectual property rights and belong to us or our licensors. You may not copy, reproduce, or use them without our written permission, except as expressly allowed by these Terms or applicable law.
10. Communications
By signing up, you agree that we may contact you by email about your account, your founding member status, important Platform updates, and matters related to your relationship with Kaaluna. We may also send you optional updates, invitations, and editorial content. You can opt out of these optional communications at any time through the unsubscribe link in our emails or by contacting us at [email protected]. Service-related emails, such as account or transaction messages, will continue as long as your relationship with Kaaluna is active.
11. Fees and Payments
At this stage, Kaaluna does not collect, process, or accept any payments through the Platform. The waitlist and founding member registration are entirely free. No paid services, subscriptions, bookings, or transactions are offered or facilitated through the Platform at present. Payment functionality, if and when introduced, will only be activated after a legal entity has been established to operate the Platform. At that point, separate payment terms, consumer withdrawal rights, and any other legally required information will be provided, and users will need to agree to those terms before any payment can be taken. Founding members will receive a reduced long-term rate on relevant paid features, as described on our website at the time of signup, for as long as the relevant paid feature remains available on the Platform. This commitment will be honored in good faith once the relevant features go live.
12. Availabilty of the Platform
We work to keep the Platform available and running smoothly, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. The Platform may be unavailable from time to time due to maintenance, updates, or factors outside our control. We may also change, suspend, or discontinue features as Kaaluna evolves. Certain features may be released as beta, pilot, or early-access features and may contain errors, limitations, or incomplete functionality. We will indicate these clearly where reasonable.
13. No Guarantees
We aim to build a thoughtful and trustworthy platform, but we cannot guarantee:
- The availability, quality, safety, legality, or effectiveness of any practitioner, service, retreat, event, or offering listed or referenced on the Platform.
- That the Platform will always be secure, error-free, or uninterrupted.
- That any particular wellbeing outcome or experience will result from using the Platform.
Your use of the Platform and any engagement with practitioners or third parties is at your own discretion and risk.
14. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Kaaluna is not liable for:
- Any decisions you make based on information on the Platform.
- The conduct, services, products, or content of practitioners or other third parties.
- Indirect, incidental, consequential, or special losses, including loss of profit, data, or opportunity.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for intentional misconduct, gross negligence, injury to life, body, or health, fraud, or any liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited under applicable law, including the German Product Liability Act. If you live in a country whose law gives you rights that cannot be waived, those rights are not affected by these Terms.
15. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify and hold Kaaluna, its founders, and its representatives harmless from claims, losses, liabilities, and reasonable costs arising from:
- Your unlawful use of the Platform.
- Your breach of these Terms.
- Content you submit that infringes third-party rights.
- Your misrepresentation of qualifications, credentials, or authority.
16. Termination
You can stop using the Platform at any time. You can request deletion of your personal data in accordance with applicable law and our Privacy Policy by contacting [email protected]. Some information may be retained where required by law or for legitimate business purposes, as described in our Privacy Policy. We may suspend or end your access to the Platform if you breach these Terms or where we consider it necessary to protect the community, the Platform, or our legal interests.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Where the changes are material, we will let you know by email or through a notice on the Platform before they take effect. Continuing to use the Platform after changes go live means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not accept them, you can stop using the Platform and ask us to close your account.
18. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Germany, without regard to conflict of law principles. The courts of Limburg an der Lahn, Germany have non-exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these Terms or the Platform. If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, you keep the protection of the mandatory provisions of the law of the country where you live. We are not obliged and do not currently agree to participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
19. Severability
If any part of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest of the Terms remain in force.
20. Contact
